2000- Kristy Kowal won a silver medal for swimming in the Olympics.
2001- Betsy King, Berks County native and professional golfer, was inducted into the National Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame.
2003- WFMZ started its 69 News en Español.
2005- The GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, located in the former Willson Goggle Factory (founded 1871) opened.
2006- Berks County was hit by the most flooding since the 1972 Tropical
Storm Agnes flooding.
2007- Berks Opera Company was founded.
2009- The first group named to the Berks County Military Hall of Fame.
2010
2010- Allison Baver won a bronze medal for speedskating in the Olympics.
2014- Hail storm damaged many areas of Berks County.
2014- Berks Sinfonietta was established.
2016- Massive regional blizzard hit Berks County.

2017- Berks County Military Museum opened in Mohnton.
2018- George M. Meiser, IX and Gloria Jean Meiser’s Passing Scene Volume 25 published. The acclaimed series on Berks County history began in in 1982.
2020
2020- In the 2020 U.S. Census Berks County had 429,342 residents.
2020- The Reading Science Center opened at 645 Penn Street.
2020- PennDOT won an award for preservation of the Penn Street Bridge.
2020- The Widoktadwen Center for Native Knowledge founded in Reading.
2020- The County of Berks created a website to provide information during the COVID pandemic.
2021- Drexel University College of Medicine at Tower Health in West
Reading founded.
2022- The Berks Liberty Bell that rang out in 1776 was put on display in the Berks County Services Center for the AMERICA250 celebration.
2022- The 31st World War II Weekend was held.
2022- The 3rd annual Puerto Rican Parade was held in Reading.
2023- Reading celebrates its 275th Anniversary.
2023- The 27th annual Chili Pepper Festival in Bowers.
2023- The 32nd Annual Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest.
2023- R. M. Palmer Chocolate Factory explosion.
